Hello journal, welcome to one of those rare times I feel like having a good ol' write. The feeling usually passes in a few minutes, so I'd better get cracking!

So it's been more than 6 months since my last update. What was it about again? Ah yes, lamenting the exam period while enjoying some cautious optimism surrounding possible job prospects for my IBL year. Turns out I got a job after all, and I'm currently working as a Test Engineer at Haliplex Communications. Great for the back pocket, but not my work ethic. I forsee many late nights and motivational speeches to myself in the future - something to look forward to.

That said, I can't say I'm not enjoying it. It doesn't feel as though I'm learning an abundance of new and interesting skills (and isn't that going to look good on my mid year report?), so on the whole, it's not much different to my job at Safeway - I'm still a cog in a machine. At least my Manager isn't a dick.

And unsurprisingly, I miss university already. There isn't really much else to say, full time work tends to make a routine of your week. I've started work on another wallpaper though - should be done soonish (though I do have to write a mid year report for my IBL placement, better not hold me to that).
